Procedure of a cPNI therapist consultation and advice PDF Print E-mail

The first appointment with a cPNI therapist will mainly be a comprehensive anamnesis also called “professional interview” which is the base of each cPNI consultation. The word “anamnesis” comes from ancient Greek and means „memory, recollection“.

A diligent anamnesis interview will include physical, mental and social aspects and is an interactive process between therapist and patient. Based on the information obtained the therapist will finally be able to conceive and present causal interrelations.

The aim of the anamnesis is to establish with the aid of this information a problem-oriented working hypothesis on the basis of which the therapist will discuss a change of behavior according to the concept of the clinical PNI. In the course of this discussion the therapist can further support and affirm his working hypothesis by means of specific examinations within the interdisciplinary network (medical specialists, psychologists, etc.).

The specialist consultation with the therapist for clinical psychoneuroimmunology is a private service and is usually not paid by your health insurance. A number of private cost bearing institutions in the EU, however, will contribute to the costs.
